SCS opened in 2001 to bring quality public cold storage within minutes of one of the largest ports on the east coast.We understand the importance of storing frozen product and the need to freeze product safely and quickly. Our experience in seafood birthed the idea of building a storage facility that would meet the increasing demand for public cold storage. Located within miles of multiple ports, the location meets the goals of decreasing food mileage as well as increased accessibility.
Suffolk Cold Storage (SCS) is a state of art facility with over 5.3 million cubic feet of convertible space. It has 17,500 pallet positions which can range in temperature from +48° to -10°. SCS has 8 blast cells that can flash freeze 900,000 lbs. of product in 36 to 48 hours. SCS has state of art warehouse management systems to help with inventory and product retrieval for exceptional customer service.
In December 2012, Suffolk Cold Storage became the 5th warehouse in the United States to obtain British Retail Consortium certification. SCS is in the heart of the Mid-Atlantic region to service all of the east coast.
